Dr. Jung is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology division of the department of Medicine. She has been a practicing Gastroenterologist since 2004 with a focus in hereditary GI diseases and high risk colorectal cancer. Her research focuses on mechanisms of GI epithelial cell growth and migration in cancer.

She received her MD from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. Her medical residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training was completed at the University of California in San Diego. She joined the UIC faculty in 2013.
